Leadership
Jim Enrique Tolbert — Founder & Managing Director, ExecCap Advisors
Jim Enrique Tolbert brings decades of experience in executive consulting, mergers and acquisitions, and private equity–backed operations. He began his career at Morgan Stanley International, working in Mergers and Acquisitions in New York and London, before joining McKinsey & Company in Chicago, where he advised clients on strategy, finance, and operations.
Jim later served as a principal operator, including five years as CFO of a private equity–backed company and 15 years as Founder and CEO of another private equity–backed platform. In these roles, he personally led acquisition sourcing, valuation, due diligence, negotiations, regulatory approvals, and advisor coordination.
Today, Jim focuses on acquisition advisory for executives, helping leaders pursue ownership through disciplined strategy, aligned capital, and strong post-acquisition leadership.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Economics (summa cum laude) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
